Questions artists actually ask

Where is the space?

Downtown Ann Arbor โ€” we're finalizing between two locations and will announce the address in August. Founding artists hear first. If we're somehow not open by September, you've lost nothing: there are no fees and no commitment.

What does it cost me to join?

Nothing. No dues, no application fee, no buy-in. The gallery earns only when you do: 25% of sales, and entry tickets to special community events (never to your own show).

What if my work doesn't sell?

You take it home and owe nothing. We'd rather you come back for another slot later in the year than feel burned.

Who sets the prices?

You do. We can share local comparables if you'd like input, but it's your call.

Who handles sales tax and card fees?

We do. Tax is collected on top at the register; card fees come out of our 25%. Your 75% is calculated on the full sale price.

How are the two-week slots assigned?

First-come among founding artists, balanced so back-to-back shows aren't the same medium. You'll pick from available slots when we contact you.

Can I be there during my viewing week?

Yes โ€” encouraged but never required. Artists who meet visitors tend to sell more, but the gallery is staffed either way.

Do I have to work shifts, sit the gallery, or join committees?

No. This isn't a co-op โ€” no docent duty, no committees. Those models work, but they're a second job. We staff the gallery.

Is my work insured while it's there?

Yes โ€” the gallery's policy covers theft and damage while your work is on site.

What's the catch?

We're new โ€” that's the catch. No track record yet, which is why nothing is asked of you up front and everything is cancellable. The founding artists who take the leap shape the place.
